Defense Transformation requires efficient government access to
commercial information technology as it becomes available.
Common
Technology 2002 - Commercial Information Technology for Defense Transformation
is a one day conference designed to identify critical issues in need of
resolution. The program defines the importance of IT in defense transformation
and examines how the issues are addressed both nationally and internationally.
The different perspectives of large traditional DoD suppliers and small
innovative businesses will also be looked at and discussed.
Finally the
issues would be brought together and examined during the Town Hall session and
recommendations made to address problem areas possibly in a series of follow-on
workshops. It is envisaged that the identified issues would be subsequently
addressed in detail through formation of technology issue clusters (TIC's). The
TIC's would develop and recommend solutions at workshops to be held over coming
months. Attendees would be eligible to join the groupings and help define
solutions. |
